History: Synnove is a stunning young girl who will warm your heart as well as body with how fluffy and thick her coat is! She arrived to rescue looking for a second chance at a good life. She is very timid right now and working hard on her trust and confidence but will thrive with a patient family willing to continue to work on these things with her. She is SO worth it!
A note from the foster: Wow! It's been just a couple weeks and Synnove has been coming out of her shell! She hangs out in the kitchen when we make dinner, has met the cats and other resident dog, loves going outside and even gives kisses now!
She comes out of the crate on her own, gets excited to go outside and even plays with one of the cats, kind of.... When Synnove is in the kitchen with us while we make dinner we leave the leash on her still. Well, Kevin, the teenage cat who also lives here, has decided that the leash dragging behind her is a GREAT toy! Synnove will simply look at him chasing her and keep doing what she's doing. Doesn't bother her at all and she simply watches the show. It's pretty cute!
She is still nervous around men but is getting better every day. Foster dad is a pretty big guy and he can move a little too fast for her. She startles easily but is getting used to her surroundings and is much calmer than when she first arrived.
She's also learned that treats are a pretty great thing and loves getting them after going outside potty. She takes 2 trips around the yard, potties and is ready to go back inside. Doorways and stairs haven't been conquered yet, but we are working on it!
The amount of progress Synnove has made in such an amazingly short amount of time is nothing to scoff at! She is living her very best life and loving what it really means to be a dog friend as she gets more and more comfortable with her new life. She's an absolute sweetheart!
Adoption Fee: $550 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
