A Note from the Foster: Meet Steel – Your Future Snuggle Buddy!
Hi there! My name is Steel, and my foster family says I’m an absolute sweetheart and a very good boy. I’m currently on the lookout for my forever home—maybe it’s with you?
I’m seven years old, which makes me a grown-up in dog years, but don’t let that fool you—I still have a youthful spirit and a heart full of love. Life didn’t start out easy for me, but things have turned around, and now I’m ready to settle down with a kind human (or two!) who will give me the love I’ve always dreamed of.
Here are a few things that make me a great companion:
I’m house-trained and always take care of my business outside—no accidents here!
I’m working hard on leash training. I can be a little shy with new things, but I’m giving it my all.
I’m all about the cuddles and companionship.
I love my kennel—it’s my cozy, safe space where I sleep peacefully when my humans are away or it’s bedtime.
I greet my people with fast tail wags and quiet joy—I’m not a big barker, which I hear is pretty rare for a Schnauzer!
My absolute favorite activity? Napping..... Seriously, I could snooze all day long if you let me! I also enjoy meeting other pups—big or small—when we’re out and about.
If you're a laid-back family, a retired couple, or just someone looking for a low-key, loving companion, I might be just the pup you’ve been waiting for. All I want is a warm lap, gentle pets, and someone to love with all my heart.
Could that someone be you?
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
