Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest
Gender: Female
Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
Age: Est DOB: 11/2024
Dog Friendly: Yes- would do best w/ another dog
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Likely due to young age
House Trained: Doing great!
History: We recently welcomed a group of deserving dogs who needed help from overcrowded rural shelters in Texas. They are settling into their foster homes and doing well as they start their journey in finding their forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Let's start with the eyes. You will not meet another pup with more engaging tan bright eyes than this sweet girl. You can't help but smile when you see her running across the yard, only to be met with a full body hug and all the loving kisses.
She is excited to please and does a great job on command of sit and re-direction/correction. Her confidence and personality l has blossomed after a month in rescue! From being carried everywhere day 1 because she was so scared, to now playfully tackling our resident dog and introducing herself to friends/family who come visit. She is very comfortable in her kennel now and will run their on cue. She has also phased out of needing another dog or human in the room while kenneled up.
3 biggest strengths:
Calm- not many young pups can play their hearts out and know when to lay down and call it quits for a bit- not this girly
Correction- she responds incredibly well to correction/re-direction (again she is looking for someone to help lead her on the right path)
Resilient- she is ready to take on life with a confident leader (hopefully another dog sibling too) to help give her an environment to shine in
2 areas of growth:
Confidence- although her transformation from day 1 in rescue has been exceptional, she still needs some time to build her confidence, especially with newer environments/people/dogs
Leash Walking- so many fun things to see on a walk, and she will make sure we address all of them! One-on-one time leash walking and full attention will help her continue to build this skill!
Siri is going to thrive in a forever home with likely another play mate, some energy to be shared in, and pawrents that are ready for ALL the loving!
Adoption Fee: $750 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
