History: Sir Chester is a super handsome boy who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart. He was the oldest dog on his transport and a pretty tiny boy. He arrived with teeth in such bad shape it would make you cringe. He is doing well in his foster home and is officially ready to start his journey in finding his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: How can you pass up a little guy named "Sir Chester"?
He is a mini poodle and estimated to be about 9 years old and weighed in at 6.6 pounds when he came in to rescue. I don't know what the first 9 years of his life were like, but you can tell that at some point he was loved and trained and most likely had maybe a normal dog life. As soon as he got to our house, he waited by the door and then went out and went potty on the grass area outside where the other dogs go. He also goes on the potty pad in the house by the door if I am not there to let him out to go.
He likes to hang out in his kennel and has set up a few little places here in the house that he likes to go and hang out with a blanket and his stuffed rabbit.
He has really gained his confidence since being here, and now will come out and sit with the other two dogs or on my lap with some coaxing. He is very agreeable to baths, cleaning his ears and his eyes, and to be snuggled up against me if he feels secured in that spot If you are someone who is looking for a little companion who is potty and kennel trained and just requires to be loved in return, Sir Chester is your guy. ❤️🐾
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
