Scrub

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Hound Mix
Age: Est DOB: 12/2024
Weight: 53 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Would do best in home w/ no cats
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Yes

History: We welcomed a group recently from a partnering organization of ours, Villalobos Animal Rescue. Scrub has warmed our hearts with his goofy and loving personality and would love to find a forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: Scrub is such a personality! He arrived to rescue and quickly made friends with everyone he meets.

He does great with all people. He currently is temp fostered with a 5 year old little girl who he adores. He will thrive with a family willing to help him continue to learn manners and basic obedience as he is still learning not to be jumpy with children so a home with littler kids may not be the best fit for him unless he has a committed family willing to work through that. He does not have a mean bone in his body- he’s an active hound :)

He great along with dogs of all sizes and enjoys playing.

He has been exposed to cats and was a bit overly interested but did not want to hurt them. He would not do well in a home with a cat who will run away as the game of chase begins but in a home with a confident cat and time letting them get to know each other, that could work for Mr Scrub.

He is housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. He rides in the car while as well.

Scrub is a really good hound boy who will thrive in a home that is either experienced in the hound breed or have done their research. They are loyal and active dogs with hearts of gold!

Adoption Fee: $510 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
