History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!
A Note from the Foster: Scarlett has really blossomed since coming to rescue! When she arrived she was very nervous and scared, but each day she has gained more confidence and her true personality is coming through!
Scarlett loves riding in the car and is very calm and relaxed on rides. She also likes her kennel, and will usually go right in it when you say “kennel”. She is a very playful dog, and LOVES playing with toys that squeak! Scarlett also loves tennis balls and has excellent retrieving skills. She loves sleeping next to soft toys and blankets. She walks great on a leash, and enjoys going for walks.
Scarlett is working on learning that she can chew on toys but not furniture, clothing, throw rugs, etc. She is particularly interested in socks and shoes, and is excited if steals either one! Scarlett has occasional potty accidents in the house. She doesn’t really alert you when she needs to go out, but she is taken outside on a regular schedule which usually works well.
Once Scarlett trusts you, she will shower you with love and kisses! She is a very sweet dog who will be a wonderful companion to anyone who adopts her!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
