A Note from the Foster: Hi everyone, I’m Rich, the best friend you didn’t know you needed! I’ve been with my foster family now for over half of the year and that’s because I’m shy at first. I figure with my shyness, how you would you know you needed me if I didn’t introduce myself and tell you some things about me.
The first thing you should know about me is that I am truly a big lap dog once I get over being shy. Where you are, that’s where I want to be. I’d really like it if someone in my family worked from home so we could hang out all day. If they didn’t work at home, even though I wouldn’t like it, I would be okay at home alone. Just give me a bone or a frozen Kong, and a window to look out and I will keep myself occupied until you get back home. Watching the world out the window is one of my favorite things to do.
I am potty trained and I love being outside but I’m not a high energy dog. My foster family has a fenced yard which is great for playtime but not required. I’m pretty good on a leash, so I’d be okay with a walk in the evening and then chill time on the couch with my family.
I have a dog foster sister and we get along great, but I think I would also be okay as an only dog because that means I get all the love and attention focused just on me. I do like to chase the small critters in the yard so I think I should make sure my forever family doesn’t have any of those.
That’s enough about me for now because heck, for a shy boy I’ve said a lot! If you are looking for a big sweet, cuddly boy to be your best friend, look no further, it’s me, Rich!!
Adoption Fee: $510 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
