History: We welcomed a group recently from a partnering organization of ours, Villalobos Animal Rescue. These kiddos are SO sweet, social, friendly, and already have a great start at basic obedience and mannerisms.
A Note from the Foster: Ren came to us all the way from the Villalobos Rescue Center!
Ren takes a few days to warm up, but she is so worth the wait. She is a shy, independent girl, but is beginning to come up to give kisses and get scratches under her chin. Ren will need a confident doggie sibling to show her the ropes, and help her remember that the humans here are ready to love her. Ren LOVES to be outside - playing with our resident dogs, and simply exploring. She reportedly loves swimming too! A fenced in yard is ideal for her.
When inside, Ren is learning to relax. She does pace around quite a bit, but has begun chilling in her kennel with the door open. When she settles down she loves burrowing in soft blankets and it’s just about the cutest thing you have ever seen. Ren is a gentle lady who has been fantastic with my children (aged 8 and up). She takes treats gently and has never growled at either humans or dogs in our home. She can be a bit skittish so younger children might startle her.
Ren has not had a single accident in the house!! She is beginning to stand by the patio door when she wants to go out. She comes when called, but has not quite gotten the hang of any other basic commands just yet. She keeps her kennel clean and is content to be in there overnight and when her humans are gone.
Are you ready to welcome Ren home? She can’t wait to meet you!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
