Adoption Status: Pending

Gender: Male
Breed: Mini Poodle
Age: Est DOB: 12/2021
Weight: 17 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Phillie is a super handsome boy who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart with his smile and happy personality. He has his paws crossed to find his forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: Are you looking for an escort upstairs or someone to cover you with a blanket on the couch? Then look no further I might just be the little man for you!

Hi, my name is Phillie, but my foster mom calls me Prince Phillip or Sir Phillip. She thinks I’m a distinguished gentleman! I had a ruff start for the first part of my life, but my foster mom is working very hard to make sure I learn all about the good sides. I have been in rescue for almost a month and am working on building my confidence. For a dog, I don’t have much interest in playing with toys or the resident dog that is showing me the ropes. I am however a HUGE fan of cuddling, giving kisses, and following you to other rooms of the house. Once my FM gets seated on the couch, I make sure to help cover her with a blanket, so she doesn’t get cold. And then I will cuddle up with her while we watch her shows. Walking on a leash was new to me but I am doing better every day! Sometimes the loud noises outside or in the house scare me. So please be understanding if I get nervous. My FM usually kneels to give me pets and reassurance that I’m a good brave boy. And that seems to help do the trick! She says I’m about 90-95% potty trained. For only being in rescue for less than a month she says I’m a fast learner! But please know I might have some accidents as I adjust to my forever home. I’m not a big fan of my kennel. I will usually cry for a couple minutes after my FM leaves the house, but I settle down quickly. I can make it 7-9 hours in the kennel while she works without any accidents! I would rather sleep on the bed, but my FM has me sleep in my kennel and I don’t make a peep all night. I am a good eater and really enjoy these things called treats!

Adoption Fee: $550 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
