Where will the photos be taken at?

Our CHDR facility in Somerset, WI in our private photoshoot room. We are exploring expanding to outdoor photos in our serene backdrop of the beautiful trees and country hills. Unfortunately we are unable to travel at this time.

How can I prepare for the photoshoot?

We encourage you to have your animal groomed, bathed, or a fresh brushing before coming to get their best look in the photos. If you have a higher energy dog, a walk prior the photoshoot is a great way to have them ready for their big day!

How long does the photoshoot take?

Each photoshoot is unique to the animal and their needs. A shy, more timid animal may need longer than a confident and expressive animal. The photoshoots generally are between 15-30 minutes.

What if my animal won’t sit still for the photos?

We have photographed thousands of animals- so we hear you! The good news is that we have many different ways to grab the attention of an animal- funny noises, squeaky toys, a bag of yummy treats. Erica has the patience to outlast any personality that comes on the couch who may seem impossible to photograph. If you are unsatisfied with your photos, please let us know and we will redo the photoshoot, free of charge!

Can our human family be included in the photos too?

Absolutely! Our indoor experience can be a bit cozy but a small group of humans is okay.

Can any dog come for photos or does they have to be a CHDR alumni?

Nope! Any animal no matter where you adopted or welcomed your animal from... with a little catch. Because we are a functioning veterinary clinic and animal rescue, we do ask to confirm your dog is up to date on their distemper and rabies vaccination before their appointment. If they are a young puppy, we will ask they be carried into the building and photo room.
