Nerissa

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Female
Breed: Mini Poodle
Age: Est DOB: 09/2019
Weight: 9 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Nerissa is a beautiful girl who arrived to rescue recently and immediately warmed our hearts. She is officially ready to start her journey in finding her forever home and hopes to find them soon!

A Note from the Foster: Sweet Nerissa is ready to make her real-world debut.  This precious Miniature Poodle has been of service for several years,

giving life to many beautiful puppies.  It’s her time now to be the center of attention, to be loved and doted on by a loving family all her own.

Nerissa is 6 years old and she is a petite 9 pounds.  She has been a joy to foster.

She does all her toileting outside and she goes potty right away when you take her out.

Nerissa is kennel trained, keeping her kennel clean and dry.  She sleeps through the night in her kennel

and is also calm and relaxed during the day when she needs to be in her kennel so you can take care of other things.

Nerissa is at ease with other dogs, living with both a 4 month old puppy and a 10 year old Labradoodle.

She has not had experience with small children or cats.

Nerissa came from a breeder release.  She currently shows fear of men, barking, slightly growling and trying to move away from them.

Nerissa has only been in rescue for a few days and she has allowed my husband to hold her and my sons to pet her.

I fully expect that she will feel more at ease with men with more time.

Nerissa enjoys being outside and is amazing on a leash! She comes out of her kennel pretty easily and she has handled her baths and brushing very well.

She’s still figuring out this new way of life, but when she snuggles in by you she is totally relaxed and content.

Nerissa with have her spay surgery on October 16th.  She will also have her teeth cleaned and some dental extractions done at that time.

She will be ready for her new home on October 19th or after.

She is just a sweetheart and I know you are going to love her!

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
