History: We welcomed a group recently from a partnering organization of ours, Villalobos Animal Rescue. These kiddos are SO sweet, social, friendly, and already have a great start at basic obedience and mannerisms.

A Note from the Foster: Musher AKA Mello is roughly 6 months old and sweet as pie. She is very calm and relaxed most of the time except when she gets your typical puppy play energy. On Occasion Mel accompanies me to my office where she is very calm and friendly to all. Mello is very sociable and loves all people and dogs. She is one of the friendliest dogs I know. My resident dog and Mello get along like two peas in a pod.

Mello is completely kennel trained. She sleeps through the night and keeps her kennel clean. If she needs to be kenneled during the day she can last up to about 6 hours. There will be a couple minutes of whining or barking but calms down quickly and will relax.  Mello is potty trained and if we stick to a schedule there are never any accidents. Mel is treat motivated and knows how to sit, leave it, and come. We are working on lay down and her recall skills. Mello is also doing great on the leash when we go for walks.

Mello has been around cats and does well with them. Mel has also enjoyed playing and spending time with kids of all ages from 2 years old to teenagers. Some of Mello’s favorite things are playing with her foster sister (4-year-old female dalmatian), cuddling on the couch, and going for walks to smell all the smells!

Mello is the sweetest most loveable and playful puppy who will melt your heart with just one look. I know without a doubt she is the missing piece to your puzzle.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
