History: We recently welcomed a group of deserving dogs who needed help from overcrowded rural shelters in Texas. They are settling into their foster homes and doing well as they start their journey in finding their forever home soon!
This litter of 3, the puppies to sweet Ladybug, arrived to rescue and shortly after broke with parvovirus. They are brave and strong little pups who powered through and are doing amazing now. They are ready to meet you!
A Note from the Foster: Well, Howdy everybody! Good to see y’all today, they call me Tex, although my posted name is Monarch! Sure looks different ‘round these parts!
I traveled up to Coco’s Heart with my 2 brothers and my momma (Ladybug) from WAY down south, this place called Texas. A lady that works along the border down there kept seeing my mom and giving her food, then one day she showed up with me and my brother and she just knew she needed to get us help. This wonderful lady saved us and got us to a rescue in Texas that connected with Coco’s Heart to help get us here! Pretty awesome right! After arriving my foster momma scooped up my brothers and me, and momma got to go relax without us at another foster home since we didn’t need her anymore.
It did not take our foster momma long to realize that she had some pretty smart puppies on her hands! She also noticed something else, we may not have been feeling quite as well as other puppies she had fostered in the past. This was brought to the vet staff's attention and they made sure to check us out so we could be on the mend right away! Now that we are feeling ALL better we are all ready to go be puppies and sniff out our furever homes!!
Anyways, back to all of the things I am amazing at!
Meal Time: I learned very quickly that “are you hungry” means, I GET TO EAT! And I run to my kennel and wait oh so patiently to be fed!
Play Time: I enjoy rough housing with my brothers and the other resident dogs in the house; but I also like to self entertain myself with all the toys and chews too
Potty Training: I knew right away to use the potty pads in my play area and not go all over the house; also that if foster momma says “want to go potty outside” it means WE ARE HEADED OUTSIDE YIPPY!!!!
Going on walks: Walking on a lead is a work in progress for me, but I am getting there with a lot of encouragement and treats!
Crate training: I don’t mind sleeping in my crate but I would much rather be out lounging on a big ole dog bed. I like snuggles A LOT, especially when I get to snuggle up on my back and get belly scratches! Sometimes I fall asleep on my back and start snoring.
I still have SO much to learn about this big world….. But one thing my foster momma has really noticed that I just love is sitting outside watching nature. She has caught me a few times just sitting there enjoying the scenery.
I really hope that you will want to come and meet me! I plan to attend lots of events this upcoming month, hope to see you there! I will be the handsome fella in black 🖤
Adoption Fee: $750 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
