Mint

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Female
Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
Age: Est DOB: 12/2019
Weight: TBA
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Yes

History: We recently welcomed a group of deserving dogs who needed help from overcrowded rural shelters in Texas. They are settling into their foster homes and doing well as they start their journey in finding their forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: Meet Mint!

Are you into thrifting?! Well Mint is a rescue of course & “secondhand” per-say. Some would even say she is in MINT condition🤩

From her adorable one up & one down ears, all the way down to her three white socks, this gal is the total package🎁

Potty Trained? YUP, never had a single accident.🚽 Kennel trained? You guessed it! She loves her kennel and actually prefers to eat her meals in there.😋 Mint also hangs in her kennel from M-F for 8 hours/day & throughout the night & has never made a single peep.🛌

One smart cookie she is - already knowing, sit, shake, AND kennel commands!🍪

This girl does have a fair amount of energy, so going for walks, runs or hikes would be right up her alley!🥾 If we aren’t out for one of those things, she is content to chew on a bone as well🦴

Things Mint is working on: She is a shy gal.🙈 Her adopter should know that they will need to have patience as they work their way into her circle. Walking nicely on a leash is another thing she is working on. She likes to pull - walks are just so exciting, you know‼️ She does respond well to correction with this.

A fenced in yard is not a requirement for Mint, but I would say highly recommended. She doesn't try to evade our fence here, but if there ever is a chance and she does - she's a runner, she's a track star.🏃💨 She is very fast and loves the keep away game. Therefore, for her own safety, a fenced in yard would be HUGE for her. She is the queen of zoomies👑 and takes full advantage of the fenced in yard at our home for this. If a fenced yard is not in the cards, just know she will absolutely need to be securely tethered, under supervision of course.

Lastly, Mint LOVES other dogs. She has yet to meet one that she doesn't like and is constantly initiating play with my three resident dogs. She would love nothing more than to have a dog friend (or 5 LOL😜) to play with in her new home.🐕

Looking for a bestie as sweet as MINT chocolate chip ice cream?!🍦

Mint is your gal!❤️🐾

Adoption Fee: $500 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
