Megan

Adoption Status: Pending

Gender: Female
Breed: Labrador Retriever & Shepherd Mix
Age: Est DOB: 03/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue efforts continue all winter long as we have recently welcomed another deserving group from our rural area partners in North Dakota.

A Note from the Foster: Introducing Miss Megan, or Meg as her foster mom calls her.

She is a petite little lady (currently 26 lbs), with a sweet personality - just the right combination of sugar and spice! Megan was very timid when coming into rescue but has made great strides in a very short time. She is doing very well with potty training and is successful with regular trips outside.  She sleeps all night in her crate without any issues – between 8-9 hours! She will also go into her crate when we are going to be away for a bit and is quiet and clean.

Megan has been with several dogs, large and small, during her time in foster and has been around a number of children from very young to older and done well. She is learning to walk on a regular leash but prefers the retractable leash to keep up the pace with our resident dog, Chase. They play very well together and she is learning to take cues when Chase wants a break . She enjoys being in the backyard where she explores or sits and watches the neighborhood kids play.  Meg is quiet and doesn’t bark unless our resident dog is barking and then she’s happy to join in.

Meg would love to go to a forever home with an active family and perhaps another dog to help her continue to learn. However, with a family who will continue her training and give her the love she craves, she will be successful.

Megan is a great cuddler, lays at your feet when you’re working and loves to be with her people. Could Megan be your new fur baby?

Adoption Fee: $750 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
