McCready

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Shepherd & Mastiff Mix
Age: Est DOB: 05/2024
Weight: 92 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own!

A Note from the Foster: Hello! My name is McCready and my favorite things are food, scratchies, and naps! I may be a big, 90 lb dude but I’m also a giant sweetheart. At least, that’s what my foster mom constantly tells me. If you’re looking for a running partner, I’m not your guy. However, if movie marathons are your thing, I am all over that! I am happy to snuggle up with you on the couch, and I will periodically remind you to give me some attention because I’m thoughtful like that. If I’m not allowed on the couch, no problem! I am happy and content to hang out nearby on a nice dog bed.

Now don’t get me wrong. I like to have a good time! Walks are super fun, and I do better when there’s another dog or two to show me the routine. If I’m the only dog on a walk, I like to stop a lot to sniff all the things and take in the scenery. Sometimes I will play fetch in the backyard, and sometimes I like to chew on my stuffies or bones. After all that fun, I like to recover with a nice, long nap. My foster mom works from home, and I make an excellent supervisor while relaxing from my cozy bed. When my foster family is away, I’m content just chilling out in my kennel with a view of the outdoors. I like to play with other dogs, but they can’t be intimidated by my size! My foster parents say that I seem to be fully house and crate trained. There are no kids here, and while I would likely do fine with them, kids might not like it if I take off with their toys or shoes. I’m still a young guy at 1.5 years old, so I just can’t help myself sometimes!

My foster family is nice and all, but I am excited to find my forever family!

Adoption Fee: $510 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
