History and A note from the foster: Hi my name is Lupin! I am a beautiful malamute/Shepherd mix but despite my breed make up that sometimes makes people a feel a little intimidated- I really have the BEST qualities of your next forever boy!
I first arrived to rescue in November from North Dakorta with 415 other doggies needing help in a rural environment. I was adopted by a family but they felt I was a little timid around the man in the house, and thought it best I go back to the nice people at Cocos Heart for a bit of an evaluation in foster care. Guess what?! There's great news. I got to my foster family and my new foster mom says I'm perfect. I've been around a lot of men now and turns out they aren't really scary at all. I like to approach everything in life cautiously optimistic....heck stuff can be a little unpredictable ya know? So that's how I am with people. I will walk up to you slowly and sniff then greet you. It seems pretty normal to me. I like to play with other dogs and people but I'm okay just hanging out with you too. I don't get anxious if I haven't played enough during the day. I'm still a good boy no matter what. I know how to be in my crate with my blanket and I keep it clean but I'm also a really good boy just being free in the house. I don't cause any problems! I'm friendly toward other dogs. Most of the time I take the submissive approach until I'm comfortable and then I like to try and strike up a game to play. I mind my buisness from the kitties. They sniff a little funny. Overall my foster mom says I'm great! She really likes having me around and she says she knows you will too!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
