History: I am Luna’s puppy and was born in rescue!
Momma Luna is a beautiful scruffy gal who arrived to rescue from the streets of Mexico and was expecting a litter of puppies. Luna has been a wonderful momma and her puppies are officially ready to start accepting adoption interest!
A Note from the Foster: Leslie, aka Wesley has been growing by leaps and bounds. And bound he does. When playing,he has been known to use the back of his 55 lb Catahoula foster brother to launch himself off the couch. He also enjoys wrestle play with his 25 lb Jack Russell foster sister. He is being raised alongside a 2 lb rescued kitten, and most of the time, he knows he should be gentle. But, as he is still a puppy, he sometimes will forget and therefore, must be supervised.
From the time he arrived, he was a very easy puppy. Potty training was the easiest I’ve ever had it! He was immediately allowed to have the run of the house, and he seemed to know that when he is outside, that is the time to potty. Once outside, he likes to run with the dogs for a while, but then enjoys chilling out, grazing on some grass and wandering around the yard. Eventually settling to play with chew toys or chew on his bones. He has not been left at home for a full workday, due to remote work schedule, but has been left for shorter periods and it doesn’t seem to faze him.
He has also been living along side a barn full of horses, cats and goats and is quite comfortable with all of them. He has not prey drive and is not interested in chasing. He is NOT a fan of the ATV or Tractor when they start up and will keep his distance.
Leslie has rarely barked but is a talker. When he is tired and yawning, he lets out the cutest vocals as part of his yawn. And will wander around with a little whine when he thinks we should all go to bed. Currently, he is allowed to sleep on the human bed alongside the other dogs. He is only too happy to sleep in as late as his person wants to!
Lately, he has figured out how the doggie door works as he watched the other dogs use it. This is just an example of him being able to figure things out on his own without being “trained” orcoerced as I’ve done with most of my other dogs.
He has been around groups of people and children and is happy to meet them all. This little guy is an extremely smart sweetheart and a great cuddler. He LOVES to go for car rides and usually ends up napping on the floorboards.
While probably not a jogging buddy, he is going to be a very sweet addition to someone that is looking for a buddy to hang with and take in the car with them. As he is a pup, we are still working on leading on a leash and other basic commands, but with consistency, he will probably pick those up very easily.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
