History: Jolene is an adorable little girl who arrived to rescue recently and immediately warmed our hearts. She is officially ready to start her journey in finding her forever home and hopes to find them soon!
A Note from the Foster: Jolene is a spunky little peanut! She’s full of curiosity about the world around her and love for the ones she comes to know. Her shyness will last for about 5 minutes, then she’s doing everything she can to make you fall in love with her, and it doesn’t take much. From her having no concept of what personal space is, to being amazed at her bravery or how quickly she catches on to training or learning, she’ll have you entertained and captivated by her personality in no time. She does well with my resident Bichon, but would also adapt well to being an only dog as long as there’s lots of love, affection, and attention. I would caution this breed wouldn’t do well being left isolated and alone for long periods of time.
She’s learning about pottying outside and doing well with the concept of pads indoors, although accidents happen from time to time. As is common with the poodle breed, she’s showing a flair for variety in food choices so stirring in bits of egg, chicken, turkey, with pumpkin or cottage cheese with her puppy kibble has reignited a zest for mealtimes.
Jolene is scheduled for her spay surgery on December 3d. She is eligible for our foster-to-adopt program. We are currently seeking applicants who are open to doing a foster-to-adopt, rather than waiting until after her surgery to move forward with adoption. This gives Jolene the opportunity to start bonding with her forever family while she completes her veterinary care. If interested, please submit an adoption application (not a foster application).
Adoption Fee: Our adoption fees typically vary from $510-$1260 + tax. Our coordinator will be in touch with you with specific information during the application processing. For more information on where our animals come from, here is some additional information. Thank you!
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
