History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own!
A Note from the Foster: Jitterbug arrived from North Dakota a little nervous about what living with a family in a house would be like, but now that he has had a taste there’s no going back! Here’s what Jitterbug is loving about home life:
TOYS: He loves throwing balls in the air that he tries to catch himself! He is starting to learn the joy of playing catch with a human! He also loves shaking stuffies and taking naps with a chew toy close by.
TREATS: He is food motivated and already knows how to sit nicely and wait for a treat. He loves dog puzzles that dispense treats and his favorite is a woof pupsicle.
BEDS: He loves napping on a dog bed and doesn’t even mind sleeping in his kennel (on a comfy dog bed) during the night. He takes a few minutes to settle but does great after that.
PEOPLE: He loves everyone and everyone who meets Jitterbug loves him too! He doesn’t jump up on people, and instead just boops them to let them know he’d like some pets! He’s been around kids ages 10+ with no issues.
OTHER PETS: He gets along great with dogs, big and small. He even stayed for a few days with a temp foster who had a cat and he did good with the kitty.
Jitterbug is the total package! Smart, handsome, playful, friendly, affectionate and just the right amount of goofy! Jitterbug is doing very well on potty training, he has had some issues with marking in the house but that has gotten much better with training and good rewards for going potty outside. He also is learning house manners and has done some counter surfing we are working on. A little time is all he needs, he is a great dog!!!
Adoption Fee: $510 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
