Hyacinth

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Female
Breed: Labrador Retriever & Border Collie Mix
Age: Est DOB: 05/2024
Weight: 41 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Yes

History: We recently welcomed a group of deserving dogs who needed help from overcrowded rural shelters in Texas. They are settling into their foster homes and doing well as they start their journey in finding their forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: This happy little girl is full of energy and sweet as can be. She loves to snuggle and give kisses. She is 14 months old and about 40 pounds. She does not like to be in a kennel. Foster mom leaves her out during the day along with resident dog and there have been no issues. She also sleeps through the night in her bed but likes to wake you up early in the morning with kisses. She is potty trained. She did have a couple accidents until foster mom realized the signals. She will go by the door or pace the room and whine when she needs to go out. She knows how to sit and shake. We are working on other commands. She loves to play ball and run in the yard. She would do best in a fenced yard or on a very long lead . She likes to explore so she needs to be watched close if she is not in a fence or on a lead. Her and resident dog usually play well and like to wrestle. She is somewhat skittish around men until she gets to know them. Foster mom has not had her around kids but with her sweet temper and playfulness I am sure she would make a great best friend.

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
