Howard

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Husky & Pomeranian Mix
Age: Est DOB: 05/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Likely due to young age
House Trained: Doing great!

History: We received a plea to help a litter of pomskys who are reported to be 75% husky and 25% Pomeranian. They are friendly, active, and excited kiddos who are each hoping to find their forever homes soon!

A Note from the Foster: Howard is an adorable pomsky mix puppy with the sweetest temperament! He is active and playful and loves to explore the outdoors. He has the cutest coloring and mismatching ears that add to his adorable charm. He will make the most special small to medium sized companion for the luckiest family.

Upon arrival to Coco’s Heart Howard was assessment and diagnosed with a grade 3/4 right rear lateral luxating patella and joint effusion. While we're exploring options for his care—ranging from surgery to supportive treatments—we're optimistic about his future. Howard has the potential to lead a long and happy life, and with the right support, he can thrive in a loving home.

At this time, due to his ongoing care, we are looking for a committed Foster-to-Adopt family for Howard. Howard’s diagnosis does not slow him down one bit – he just needs to right forever family that is committed to helping him see out his treatment plan in rescue before finalizing his adoption.

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
