Hoss

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Pitbull Terrier Mix
Age: Est DOB: 03/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Likely due to young age
House Trained: Yes

History: We recently welcomed a group of deserving dogs who needed help from overcrowded rural shelters in Oklahoma. They are settling into their foster homes and doing well as they start their journey in finding their forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: Hoss is pretty easy to have around. He is fully housebroken, asks to go outside. Crates well. Goes right in and will even sleep in there with the door open during the day, as long as it is in the same room as you are. He will bark some if you crate him and he sees you leave the house because he wants to go with. If you don’t leave the house, or leave by a door he can’t see, he settles in. Did you pick up on the theme? Hoss loves to be near his people. Car rides, walks, playing in the yard, he loves it all. He does still have quite a bit of puppy energy but  as long as there are toys to play with he is good at entertaining himself. He does still jump and play bite which we are working on. He does great on a leash. He knows “sit” and is getting pretty good at “wait”.  Very food motivated and smart as a whip. Loves to cuddle at the end of the day. He is going to make some family very happy.

Adoption Fee: $750 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
