History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own!

A Note from the Foster:Meet Hamilton (a.k.a. “Ham” or “Hammy”)

Hamilton is a gentle, lovable lab mix pup with the sweetest soul and the most adorable giant white paws you’ve ever seen! Don’t let his puppy age fool you—Hammy is already showing what a smart and well-mannered boy he’s becoming. He’s learning all his basics like sit, lie down, and stay, and he’s eager to please (especially if throwing tennis balls or treats are involved!).

Hammy is discovering the world one wag at a time - squirrels, cars, and other dogs are his key points of curiosity, but with the right harness and a confident walker, he strolls along beautifully. He’s also proving to be a fetch superstar and absolutely adores his tennis balls and chew toys.

At home, Hamilton is a total sweetheart. He’s fantastic with kids, following our daughters and their friends everywhere with a happy grin and a wagging tail. He’s doing so well with going outside for potty training, and his crate has become his cozy safe haven—he even sleeps through the night without a peep (or an accident!).

Our family cat is still a bit of a mystery to him, but Hammy’s gentle curiosity and calm demeanor give us every reason to believe he’ll do just fine with slow introductions.

Hamilton is the perfect blend of playful puppy energy and snuggly, loyal companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, and affectionate pup who will fill your home with love and laughter, Hamilton is your guy!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
