History: Gustavo is a super handsome fella who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart with his smile and happy personality. He has his paws crossed to find his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hi there! I’m Gustavo, but my friends (which is everyone) call me Gus.
I’m a young pup with a friendly personality and a love for life. I get along great with people, kids, and other dogs—so basically, I’m always ready to make new friends. I’m not the snuggly, in-your-face type, and I’m not big on licking, but I do enjoy being near my people. I’m the perfect mix of affectionate and independent—I like being part of the action, but I’m also totally cool doing my own thing with a toy or chew.
My vibe? Quick bursts of energy like a toddler after cake, followed by a solid nap like I just ran a marathon. I’ll chase the other dog around the yard like my life depends on it… and then promptly crash for a well-earned snooze. Play hard, nap harder—that’s the puppy code.
The backyard is my favorite place to explore. I love sniffing around, playing fetch (I might bring the ball back), and working my way through a good bone. I’m curious, goofy, and always up for a little adventure.
Right now, I’m still learning the basics:
· Potty training? In progress!
· Crate training? It’s started.
· Leash walking? A bit uncertain, but improving.
· Commands? I’m smart and treat-motivated, so I’ll get there with your help.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
