Gilmore

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Husky Mix
Age: Est DOB: 04/2024
Weight: 67 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely no
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Yes

History: ðŸ§¡ From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!

A Note from the Foster: Meet happy Gilmore! This guy is just waiting to be your perfect companion. Gilmore is the calmest, quietest, most gentle young dog that we’ve had the pleasure of fostering!

We work from home and Gilmore loves to find a sunny spot and curl up at our feet all day long. He has behaved great around every other dog that he has met and he is kid-friendly.

In terms of exercise, Gilmore is totally happy to follow your lead! If you need him to relax for a full workday: not a problem. Gilmore loves extended naps! If you want to take him for a 2-hour hike then he’s equally excited for the adventure.

Gilmore is extremely quiet: if he knows how to bark then we have not heard it yet.

Gilmore loves to play with our big husky and he has also done really well with smaller dogs! We don’t think that he’d do well with cats because he has a mild prey drive around rabbits and squirrels.

Gilmore also lovessss his crate. When he gets tired, he’ll show himself to bed and he has kept it 100% clean. It’s definitely his safe space. He stays inside while we’re away with no issues.

He is fully potty trained and walks well on a leash.

If you’re searching for an easy and extremely lovable young dog then look no further!

Adoption Fee: $510 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
