History: Fennic is an incredibly adorable senior fella who needed a second chance at a good life. He has been doing well in rescue and hopes to find his forever family soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hi! My name’s Fennic and I’m a sweet, playful little guy looking for my forever home. I may be a little older, but I’ve got plenty of pep in my step — especially when there’s a ball or toy involved! I love tossing my toys around and running back and forth like a fluffy little rocket, but I’m just as happy to curl up for a cozy nap after playtime.
Since coming into rescue, I’ve been working hard on learning new things. Potty training is going really well — I’ve had a couple of accidents, but mostly I’m great about going outside and holding it until my next potty break. Walking on a leash was a brand-new adventure for me, but I’m catching on quickly! Sometimes I still get a little confused, but my foster mom picks me up and helps me feel brave again.
I get along great with my Chihuahua foster brother, and I’m always excited to greet my people with lots of tail wags and kisses (especially nose kisses!). I’ve been a bit unsure about sleeping in a crate — after likely spending too much time in one before, I’d really love a comfy spot out in the open where I can feel safe and close to my people. But I am a quick learner who will be able to adjust well either way.
When I first got to rescue, I was pretty dirty and a little bit of a mess — but don’t worry, I’ve had lots of nice warm baths, got all the mats out of my fur, and even had a little haircut to help me feel fresh and handsome. I feel so much better now. I was so patient through it all, and now my fluffy coat is soft, clean, and ready for all the snuggles!
All in all, I’m a loving, gentle guy who just wants to be part of a family. If you’re looking for a loyal buddy to bring joy, playfulness, and lots of love into your life, I might just be the perfect match. I can’t wait to meet you!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
