History: Douglas is a super handsome senior fella who arrived to rescue in need of a second chance. He is officially ready to start his journey in finding his forever home!
A Note from the Foster: Douglas is a 10-year-old Pomeranian with a heart as soft as his fluffy coat. He enjoys being brushed and will sit with you for hours while you brush him.
Douglas gets along great with other chill dogs and loves to follow them around.
Douglas may be 10, but he’s got endless love to give. His tiny tongue sticks out (thanks to just a few teeth). He’s perfectly content to take things slow and enjoy the quiet moments. He’s not the kind to demand the spotlight—Douglas prefers to sit back, observe, and take in the world around him.
Douglas has a funny personality and once he is comfortable he will rollover for belly rubs and make sure to wave his paws around if he isn't ready for you to be done loving on him.
Douglas startles easily and should be double leashed and supervised even in a fenced yard. Douglas also drags a leash in the house, as he is still sometimes unsure when he is approached.
His crate is his cozy safe place, where he feels most comfortable, but he also enjoys being near his people, watching calmly from the sidelines. Douglas isn’t a barker or a busybody; instead, he brings a peaceful presence to the home.
Douglas is doing great with going potty outside on a leash on a schedule and he keeps his crate clean when home alone and overnight.
Douglas would thrive in a calm, patient home where he can relax, feel secure, and be loved for the sweet, gentle soul he is. If you’re looking for a quiet companion to share your days with, Douglas might just be your perfect match.
Adoption Fee: $510 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
