History: Disco has been diagnosed with bilateral luxating patellas. The left is grade 2 and the right is a grade 3. She is consistently showing clinical signs of luxating patellas. The x-rays have connived the MLP w/ medial deviation of the tibial tuberosity. It would be best if she would have both of these patellas corrected to have them say in their correct position.
A Note from the Foster: Disco is a female 6 year old chihuahua. She is what’s called a “breeder release.” Which usually means she lived her entire life in a teeny tiny kennel with minimal human attention, only to be used to make babies for profit.
Discos behaviors, and fears align with that scenario. Disco is a very scared, shaky little girl. Every sound, feeling, and interaction makes her cower in fear. It took a couple weeks just for her to be brave enough to set foot outside her kennel and then another week or two for her to accept touch without it crippling her with fear. She is still very fearful, but now we can see that she’s starting to get excited and want to interact. Her tail will sometimes come unglued from where she tucks it up by her tummy, and it will have the littlest flicking of a wag! She also will ask for a tummy rub, and Will sometimes give the tiniest almost not there kiss to my hand. Disco is coming such a long way already and I have no doubt in my mind with a patient person she will continue to come out of her shell even more.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
