Dillo (yes, short for armadillo 🐾) is a compact cutie with a huge personality and even bigger fan club—he’s a certified volunteer favorite, and it’s not hard to see why!
This silly, wiggly little “pocket pittie” is all about fun, friendship, and flopping over for belly rubs. Whether he’s striking an awkward pose, zooming in happy circles, or just looking at you with those soulful eyes, Dillo knows how to make people smile.
He may be small in stature, but this guy’s got a Texas-sized heart (and a name to match). He’s been waiting patiently for his forever home!

A Note from the Foster: This handsome hunk has been so fun to have at my place and SO easy!
Interactions with dogs: Dillo has done great with all dogs, he has met young puppies, adult males, small breeds and has done great with all!
Interactions with cats: he met a cat at Angels Pet World briefly and had some curiosity to meet her, he sniffed her and when she batted him away he respected her warning and walked away. Dillo has shown some prey drive tendencies so if a cat were to run I would expect he would likely chase. So confident dog savvy cats would be a better fit.
Interactions with kids: I do not have kids in my home but he was in a home with some older kids and did great. He is very friendly to all! He is still working on some manners when he is excited such as jumping when greeting and playing so would caution that around any younger kids.
Things Dillo is working on: Basic manners and leash walking. He likes to jump up when excited and he still pulls pretty hard on leash.
Things Dillo excels at: He is kennel trained, quiet and calm when kenneled and used to a crate and rotate schedule currently, has not had any potty accidents in the house, Super cute and photogenic, doing great with meeting and mingling with other dogs.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
