History: I am a dog from the Out of the Cold Rescue Effort!
We recently were arrived back to rescue with over 400+ dogs and 20+ cats looking for a second chance after being surrendered to rescue. They are each going through their own individual journeys while in rescue- many needing extensive medical attention for orthopedic care, dentals, skin issues, etc. Other health concerns were goopy eyes, ear infections, mange, and in need of a good bath and grooming.
These deserving souls will get all the care they need and be ready to go home to your family soon!
A note from the foster: Hi my name is Denny! My foster mom calls me Denny Duquette. (Greys anatomy reference) My foster family thinks I am the sweetest, most gentle soul there is. They picked me to foster because I seemed like the underdog. I was extremely underweight and very shy. I had a tough first week because I was having issues with throwing up and diarrhea. My foster mom was persistent at trying to get me healthy. I required two pretty extensive surgeries for a condition called intestinal intussusception. With the help of the amazing Doctors and my foster parents I am thriving!
Since my recovery I have come into my own. I have gained some weight, and become the happy boy, long legged boy I was meant to be. I am super playful and would be really excited to have another dog in the house to play with. My foster parents have a resident cavachon and kitten that I get along with well, and haven’t met an animal I didn’t like. I love everyone so much that don’t be surprised when I talk to all fellow animals and people. My foster family also has twin 8 year old boys, and I ADORE them. I often can be found cuddling in bed or on the couch with them. I do like to chew, so keeping me busy with chew toys is a must. I have become excellent at kenneling, and really enjoy apples as a treat.
My favorite things in life are touching my people, and being with them all the time. I also really love soft comfy blankets, pillows, and jackets. I’m excited to see literally anyone that wants to give me attention and love. I’m told I have the most kissable spot right on my forehead. All I know is that I’m really excited to meet my forever family! I have so much love to give and hope to get just as much in return.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
