History: Dazzle is as sweet as they come! She needed a second chance and an escape out of the commercial breeding world. She is truly such a special girl!
A note from the foster: Hi, I’m Dazzle, but my foster fam calls me little sweetie, peanut, baby girl, and Dolly llama baby momma! They think I look like a mini llama… especially when I’m playing with my foster brother! We like to wrestle, but mostly, he just likes to like me and show me love.
It took me a few days, but I'm starting to feel right at home. I’m settling in and like to play with my foster siblings, even the cats like me! I got to go to the groomer with the other dogs, and I did so good. I got to meet another little dog while I was there and we became friends right away. I was a little scared by the dryer at first, but it was ok after a few minutes.
Back at my new home, I only barked a couple of nights when I was left in my hex pen. I was just scared. But now my foster mom has my crate next to her bed, so I can see her and know she's close by. I haven't made a peep all night now that I feel safe. She says I'm such a good girl! I only potty outside. I haven't quite figured out how to tell them I need to go out yet, but they've been taking me out every few hours and that's working for now. We get treats when we come in, and I'm almost ready to take the treat from their hand, but not quite.
My foster siblings like to bark when other dogs walk by the house, but I'm good and don't participate! I am still a little unsure when someone comes at me too fast. I know I'm in a safe place, but I'm still adjusting to all the kindness. Sometimes I just like to go up to my foster mom and give her a quick lick on the hand, then I run off. She thinks it's pretty cute, but really I'm just showing her that I'm happy and grateful to be here.
I keep hearing that I'll get to meet "the grandkids" soon... I'm not sure what that means, but I'm sure it will be fun!
Adoption Fee: $550 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
