Dapple

Adoption Status: Pending

Gender: Male
Breed: Mini Aussie
Age: Est DOB: 05/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Likely due to young age
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Dapple is a handsome fella who arrived to rescue recently and immediately warmed our hearts. He is officially ready to start his journey in finding his forever home and hopes to find them soon!

Dapple has MegaEsophagus which requires him to eat at an elevated level. It is well managed and we’d be happy to share more details on this if interested!

A Note from the Foster: Dapple is a spunky, smart and playful 4 month old puppy.  He arrived at Coco’s with his brother Brucie.  These two puppies can play for hours and are a bundle of fun.

This adorable little boy is not house broken yet,  but has some tells that help me know when he needs to go outside.   We go outside regularly throughout the day as we have a large outdoor kennel that they can run and play in, but when they are in their crate, they keep it clean.  Indoors, he likes to explore but also likes to cuddle up on the couch.  I think he would like to have another dog in the house, but he does have an independent streak, so would probably do fine with just his people.

Dapple sleeps soundly all night,  in our room, in his shared crate and LOVES a good snuggle in the morning after he comes back in from potty time.  He will bark occasionally if startled or if our resident dog is barking at the UPS driver.  But it is not loud or persistent by any means.  He likes to chew on his toys and has thankfully left our shoes and socks alone (for now).  Out of the two, Dapple is a little more clingy than his brother Brucie but not in an annoying way.

Dapple LOVES people and because of his age and temperament, is probably a good fit for any type of  family, even those with small children. I haven't seen him interact with cats. We just haven't been around them.

Overall, Dapple would probably be an easy fit in most homes if you are ready for, and interested in, a puppy.  He likes attention and cuddling, and LOVES a good belly rub.  He's also perfectly happy just to be close to us.

Adoption Fee: Our adoption fees typically vary from $510-$1260 + tax. Our coordinator will be in touch with you with specific information during the application processing. For more information on where our animals come from, here is some additional information. Thank you!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
