Cricket

Adoption Status: Pending

Gender: Male
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
Age: Est DOB: 12/2024
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Cricket is a super handsome boy who was recently welcomed to rescue and will warm your heart with his smile and happy personality. He has his paws crossed to find his forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: Cricket is such a happy, healthy little guy with a wagging tail and a heart full of excitement when he sees us.  He's settling in so well to life in rescue and loves to follow his people around.  He has gotten along perfectly with the resident dogs and all the dogs that have visited since we got him.  He is indifferent to cats and toddlers so far.

Potty training is a work in progress and is going well.  We are also fostering another little guy who came to rescue with Cricket and the two of them keep their pen clean overnight and when we are at work.  They seem to have learned from the other dogs to go potty outside and have earned their freedom in the house now that accidents are few and far between.  Cricket has a great appetite and loves getting treats now that he knows what they are.  He has learned to hang out in the kitchen when we are cooking because he knows he's likely to get a handout.  Who could say no to that cute face?

Cricket would make a great companion for someone who wants a snuggly dog who is also curious and a little independent.  He loves other dogs and everyone he meets!

Adoption Fee: $760 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
