History: Corki is a super happy and unique senior fella who was transferred to Coco’s Heart by a valued partner organization hoping to get Corki more adoption interest. He is working through his vetting here at Coco’s Heart and available as a foster to adopt option during that time. He hopes to meet you soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hi Everyone! My foster mom has asked me to introduce myself and share a little bit about the things I’d like you to know about me.
I am Corki the Yorkie and have recently moved into my Coco’s Heart foster home with my foster mom, dad, aunt and a kitty who prefers to ignore me, so I do the same. No kids in this house, but plenty in the neighborhood. So far, I haven’t met anyone I don’t like.
My favorite thing to do is snuggle, sometimes in my crate or next to my foster mom or dad, but my favorite is when they invite me to snuggle in with them on their bed. I can sleep pretty much anywhere my people are around. I also like to spend time out in the backyard, exploring a bit, but mostly resting in the fresh air and sunshine. Because I have a little issue with my spine, we don’t go for long walks, but I do just fine on the leash when we do go out. I saw the vet the other day and they tell me I was great the whole time! (They expected I wouldn’t be?) I’m always being told I’m “such a good boy!” The vet gave me a thorough exam and sent us home with a few meds to help my back and to get rid of pesky ear and eye infections. I willingly take my pills when wrapped in a good treat like deli meat or bacon flavored pill pockets and I sit still while my foster mom puts gel in my eyes twice a day. I usually go outside to potty, but I have had just a few accidents in the house. I will use a potty pad if it’s nearby. I’m not great at signaling when I have to go out....but maybe my foster mom isn’t great at reading my signals yet, either. I’m still working on answering to my name and commands of stay and sit are not fully in my repertoire yet.
Everyone who sees me thinks I’m adorable and is impressed with how mellow I am overall. Oh, and I don’t bark, but I do give doggie kisses.
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
