History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!
A Note from the Foster: Chloe is a gorgeous dark grayish/silver mix of muscle and love with the most beautiful hazel eyes. She came to us from Texas, where she was formerly known as Callie and seems to know and answer to that name. She is an all-star house guest, potty trained, calm and respectful, sleeps through the night and loves her crate – although not as much as snuggling on the couch with you!
Her quirks are our favorite… she quietly snores when she sleeps, bounces when she’s excited, jumps over the top of our resident golden when they play outside, and gets so jealous of anyone getting loves that she inevitably wiggles her way right into the middle!
At approximately 5 or 6 months old, she’s already 45 lbs and is expected to grow into a large and impressive adult. The experts from TX to WI have all weighed in, and we have guesses on her breed that range from labrador retriever, bull dog, cane corso, pit bull to mastiff. Whatever her breed, she’s got the sweetest temperament and is going to make a great addition to any family. She loves our kids, plays great with our resident dog, and has so much love to give.
She was a scared girl when she came to us, choosing to spend most of her day in her crate. Over the course of a week, she now only goes into her crate when we prompt her to. She’s completely overcome her fear and is ready to give out kisses and snuggles on the couch at every opportunity possible! She was also found to have hip laxity and is expected to get x-rays at her next appointment to find out more about any possible implications. That doesn’t seem to slow her down or cause her any pain, as far as we can tell! She’s a sweet, sensitive, and loyal young dog with so much potential. She’s looking for a family who will continue to help her grow in confidence and enjoy all the companionship, playfulness, and devotion she has to offer.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
