History: Chinny is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Chinny is an energetic, sweet guy. He’s happiest when someone is nearby to play with him, give him attention and go on walks outside. Chinny is very treat motivated!
Chinny is working on his potty training and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. He’s doing great overnight and has had very few accidents in the house. He does potty best when on a short walk around the neighborhood (Chinny is great on a leash!).
Chinny goes into his kennel without issue and sleeps soundly through the night. He doesn’t mind spending some time in his kennel during the day and has been using it at his “safe, calm space”.
Chinny is still learning the ropes of being a house pup. He’ll need a patient family willing to help him continue his potty training and manners. Chinny is still learning what all of the sounds of a regular household sound like and he is nervous around loud noises/quick movements. Chinny will do best with consistent training and has lived in a home with older children who can participate in training. He learned to “sit” while in our care and responded well to training with his food or treats.
As a cocker spaniel, Chinny will require regular grooming (every 4-6 weeks) and weekly brushing to maintain his beautiful coat and prevent matting, tangles, and skin issues.
Chinny has NOT been introduced to other dogs in our care but we feel he would do just fine with another dog in the household and may enjoy the extra attention and play time from another furry friend.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
