History: I am a dog from the Out of the Cold Rescue Effort!
We recently were arrived back to rescue with over 400+ dogs and 20+ cats looking for a second chance after being surrendered to rescue. They are each going through their own individual journeys while in rescue- many needing extensive medical attention for orthopedic care, dentals, skin issues, etc. Other health concerns were goopy eyes, ear infections, mange, and in need of a good bath and grooming.
These deserving souls will get all the care they need and be ready to go home to your family soon!
The photos on the white couch are off when they arrived to rescue. Many will have already improved with any physical medical concerns going on as well as many having received a good bath (and some a groom) after the photos have been taken. Our foster families help us keep each dog’s profile as up to date as possible however if you are interested in learning more, please apply to adopt and once approved and connected to a foster family, they can send updated photos, bios, etc!
A note from the foster: Meet Brutus, the lovable 3-year-old Mastiff mix, who has been patiently waiting for his forever home since November. His journey with us began in November during the cold season when he sought warmth and love. Despite being adopted in December, he was returned due to compatibility issues with the family cat. (We get it buddy! Cats aren’t everyone’s cup of tea!)
Brutus is such a special boy with a heart full of love and hope, patiently awaiting the family meant just for him. He's learned so much during his time with us, including loose leash walking and mastering the “kennel” and "place" commands. We're incredibly proud of his progress!
He adores his foster family, and they adore him right back. But he dreams of a forever family to call his own. He's great with humans of all ages, especially little kids. He gets along well with many dogs, though he might need a bit of time to warm up to more dominant ones. With slow introductions, he shines as a loyal companion.
If you are looking for an easy dog who likes slow walks, snoozing most of the day, car rides, and snuggles, Brutus is your guy.
Let's help him find his perfect match! Could you be the one he's been waiting for? If you're interested in meeting him or know someone who might be, please reach out to us. Together, we can give this sweet soul the forever home he deserves.
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
