Adoption Status: Pending
Gender: Male
Breed: Doberman Pinscher Mix
Age: Est DOB: 09/2025
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Doing great!
History: We received an urgent plea to help a momma dog with her 9 newborn pups in a rural impound where they were living on the cold concrete. They were able to secure a foster family and made it to rescue! They are officially ready to start their journey in finding forever homes of their very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Birch is a smart, playful, confident, curious little guy with the most beautiful coloring and markings on his face. He loves to explore and play and is very, very smart. He has consistently been the one in the litter to do something first. He is very treat motivated and eager to learn and learns quickly. We have been working on potty training and once he has some one-on-one attention, I think he will master it pretty quickly. We started working on some tricks with him like sit and down and he was quick to pick them up. He is great with Adults, Kids, as well as dogs of all sizes and loves to play with our 70 pound resident dog. He has just been so much fun and he will be such a great addition to anyone’s family.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
