Benson

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Male
Breed: Shepherd Mix
Age: Est DOB: 11/2024
Weight: 49 lbs
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Unknown
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Doing great!

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own!

A Note from the Foster: Woof, Woof! (Translation: Hello, Fur Baby Fans!)

My name is Benson Boone... My foster family calls me Ben, Benny, and sings this really weird song to me called Benny & The Jets. I think it's safe to say they are big music fans.

Any-hoo, life has been great in my new state of Wisconsin. I was rescued from the frozen state of North Dakota and boy, am I thankful. So much so, my tail is getting sore from wagging too much.

I've only been here for a few days and am adjusting well. I've been a gentleman with my new foster siblings and we even eat breakfast and dinner together! When I get really excited, I play a little rough, but I am working on that. These Wisconsin dogs are a bit different than the ones where I come from!

I am getting used to being inside and won't come in unless begged by my Foster Family but everytime I do, it feels really nice to be warm and welcomed. My Foster Mom has started to escort me inside by leash, so I think it's safe to say that I am wanted.

I've gone on a few walks and a run and hear I'm doing well on leash... I do get easily distracted by the new smells but all in all, I hear "Good Boy" often.

I've met a few new people and a few other dogs and they've all been really nice. I've enjoyed their company and have been just as respectable as I am in my new home. I haven't met kids yet with my new family but given my behavior, I think they would say I'd be good with them with slow introductions.

I haven't had a lot of crate time because my Foster Mom works from home and I've only been here a few days, but I sleep soundly next to my families' bed, haven't had any accidents, and I don't chew on things I am not supposed to.

I am excited to find my FURever home and a family to go on adventures with and continue to love me the way I will love them.

Adoption Fee: $510 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
