Andorra

Adoption Status: Pending

Gender: Female
Breed: Great Pyrenees Mix
Age: Est DOB: 06/2024
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Unknown
House Trained: Yes

History: We recently worked with local animal control on welcoming 6 Great Pyrenees/English Cream Retriever mixes (reported) from a situation locally. They arrived in very heartbreaking shape. They were filthy, urine stained, and absolutely terrified. Shut down and scared of the world. They had never left their small little world before and everything was so new to them.

It took a short amount of time for most of them to start coming out of their shell and we are amazed at how well they are doing. They are now starting to become ready to start their journey in finding their forever homes!

A Note from the Foster: Andorra (or Andi, as we call her) has shocked us with her vast improvement since we picked her up. Scared and shut down at first, she has completely blossomed into the perfect family dog. She loves to play and run around, then take a nap before getting some pets. Andi is potty trained, crate trained, and good on walks. She has been around dogs and cats, and has done well with both. In fact, it seems she would prefer another dog in the house, as she often seeks ours out to be near. She has not been around children, but she is extremely gentle and has never shown signs of aggression.

Andi is curious and silly, often getting the “zoomies” in the morning and right before bed. She makes us smile and laugh every day, and we are so excited for her to meet her forever family!

Adoption Fee: $750 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
