We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own!

A Note from the Foster: Hello!

My name is Amos and I am the fur-baby you have been looking for! Look at this face!

I am a friendly, sweet, loyal boy, just 9 months old.

As you can see from my photos, I get along greatly with my foster dog friend and foster parents. I have yet to meet a cat, but I sure am curious about squirrels and rabbits, so I am sure I would do just fine.

I love to play with my dog toys, run in the backyard and chew my Nylabones. I have been known to bite and love my foster's socks and pillows but have not ruined anything. So everyone is proud of me for that and helping me learn.

I also love napping and chill times, especially after a good play or run.

I am eager to learn and very curious. I would do great in training, learning from my new humans or even just watching a new furry best friend. I think I would do great without another companion too!

One training I want to work on is my leash training and commands. That is new to me!

I also hang out with my little human foster brother. I like to be with him, and we chase each other around in circles.

I love treats (greenies, zukes and even ice cubes) and I will sometimes sit for them.

Especially when I come inside from going potty. We potty after I eat and exercise about every 8 hours. I sit by the door and give a little bark when I want to go out, but I still like to be asked!
I am getting the hang of it!

I sleep in my foster family’s bedroom in my own comfy bed. I love it! I will sleep in a kennel, but make sure it’s close to you, or I might get a little noisy after a while.

When my foster family leaves, I go into my gated room where I relax in my doggie bed and look out the window.

I am in the final stretch of recovering from my right elbow surgery, so I have a bit of a limp. We are still taking it slow for another couple weeks, which just means shorter walks and trying to keep me from running and jumping, as much as possible.

I should be in full motion in the new year!

I had a tough start in life so please give me a chance to be the most loyal friend you’ll ever have.

Wait - Did you say belly rubs??? I cannot tell a lie; this is really my favorite! I hope you can see me joining your family!

I will be waiting!
Love,
Amos

Adoption Fee: $560 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
