Alexa

Adoption Status: Accepting Adoption Interest

Gender: Female
Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
Age: Est DOB: 11/2024
Dog Friendly: Yes
Cat Friendly: Likely due to young age
Kid Friendly: Yes
House Trained: Doing great!

History: We recently welcomed a group of deserving dogs who needed help from overcrowded rural shelters in Texas. They are settling into their foster homes and doing well as they start their journey in finding their forever home soon!

A Note from the Foster: Hi I'm Alexa and my foster mom says I am the sweetest girl!

I came from an overcrowded shelter in Texas and am learning all about the good life- and I am definitely loving it! My favorite things about my foster home are the kids (3 and 5), the yard, and all the comfy spots to sleep at! My foster mom says I am amazing with kids and have come out my shell running around and playing with them in the yard! I also really love to snuggle and get pets. If you stop petting, I will gladly stare at you with my puppy eyes to tell you to keep petting me! I  am doing great with potty training and understand to do my business outside! I love to run, play and chew on yummy bones!

I am great in my kennel and will whine to let you know I need to go potty in the middle of the night! I also share my space with 4 big dogs! I get along great with them but get a little scared when the 120 pound gentle giant barks! I LOVE getting the zoomies in the yard! I am so excited to find my forever home and will love you with my whole heart!

Adoption Fee: $750 + tax

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
